New Friends

I wanted to share with you our latest "new" experience.  Some new local friends took us to some traditional Beijing Hot Pot.  This is different from the hot pot that I have shared with you before.  See these copper pots in the picture below?  They are heated in the bottom by a charcoal/coals (this is what the guys are putting in them) and brought to your table.  Inside are two separate sides, one for plain water, and the other for a spicy boiling water. 

Sorry these pictures are so foggy.  Inside the restaurant it was very smoky from the hot pots.  Also, Jeff's i-Phone camera has seen better days.

 This is Yi Nan (mother) and Miao Han (daughter).  So sweet....

Here's our hot pot and you can also see the stips of beef and lamb meat that we will cook in the pot.  This is Jack's favorite....he probably ate a whole platter of meat himself.

This is Scott (Kun) with his wife and daughter.  They speak really good English and we had a great time!
